Virgil M. O'Neal of Tabernacle, NJ died Wednesday, January 6, 2010. He was 90. Virgil was born in Laurel, DE. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an Assistant Forman with the NJ Department of Transportation for 15 years. Virgil was an active member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was a member of the Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Order of the Jr. Mechanics, #49, Tabernacle. Virgil is the husband, since 1942, of Helen A. (nee Gerber). He is the father of Bruce V. (Joyce)of Tabernacle. He is the grandfather of Christopher and Todd and great grandfather of Jeffrey and Brian. He is the brother of the late Harvey O'Neal. Funeral Services will be Monday, 11 AM at the Lechner Funeral Home, 24 N. Main St., Medford. Interment is in Jr. Mechanics Cemetery, Tabernacle. A viewing will be held Sunday evening, 7-9 pm and Monday morning, 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Virgil's memory may be made to the Tabernacle United Methodist Church, General Fund, 166 Carranza Rd., Tabernacle, NJ 08088.
