Deborah J. Megonigal, 75, of Tabernacle for 47 years, died on September 8, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born in Dayton, OH in 1934 and raised in Northeast Philadelphia.For many years, she was a "stay-at-home" mom completely involved with her family and their lives. Debbie enjoyed life. Through the years, her interests included PTA/Burlington County Council, miniature harness racing, decorative art tole painting, and most recently visiting and the preservation of lighthouses. Debbie served as treasurer for The New Jersey Lighthouse Society for the past 14 years. Debbie valued spending time with her family. Debbie had an unwavering inner strength and will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, joyful, caring mother and loyal friend. Debbie was married to her husband, Harry, for 50 years prior to his death in 2005. She is survived by three adoring daughters and son-in-laws: Ann and Weymen Maffett of Tabernacle; Deborah and Dominick Valentino of Southampton; Mary Megonigal and Skinner Bakely of Vincentown; precious granddaughter: Danielle Ann Valentino; sister and best friend: Cornelia Bryan; son and grandson: Harry Megonigal, III and Harry and Jen Megonigal, IV; other relatives and many friends. At her request, services will be private. A future gathering will be scheduled so that family and friends can celebrate Debbie's life.
