Frederick A. Weichert of Southampton, NJ died Sunday, September 6, 2009. He was 96. Fred was born in New Rochelle, NY. He was an inspector for Cook Industries in Queens, NY. He was involved in Civil Defense during World War II. He was a member for many years of the Hampton Lakes Fire Co. and Emergency Squad. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of T.O.U.C.H. He was a member of Central Lodge #44, F & AM, Vincentown, NJ. Fred is the husband of the late Catherine B. (nee Barron). He is the father of Virginia (Dominic) Azzaro of Hartsdale, NY. He is the grandfather of Amanda and Neil. He was the companion of Jean Cook of Southampton. A viewing will be held Thursday, September 10th, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Lechner Funeral Home, 24 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A Masonic Service will be held Thursday evening, at 8 PM followed by a Prayer Service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 11th, 11 AM at Beechwood Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Fred's memory would be appreciated to Samaritan Hospice, 175 Madison Ave., Mt. Holly, NJ 08060.
