Jeanne Lander Cornelssen of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Southampton, NJ and Medford, NJ died peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Willowwood Nursing Home in Flowery Branch, GA. She was 81. Jeanne was born in Tarrytown, NY on July 26, 1928 to C. Everett and Henrietta Lander of Elmsford, Westchester County, NY. She was a Fashion Design graduate of Drexel University and was one of the few who early on worked at Glamour and Vogue in New York City. Jeanne was a reporter for the Central Record and a longtime member of the Pinelands Garden Club. She loved Medford and her work reporting on local interesting houses, but her first love was her membership in the Pinelands Garden Club. Jeanne, along with Rona Cook, ran The Toll House Antiques in Medford for many years. Her decorating skills were well-known. Her home was always arranged perfectly and was shown during many house tours of Medford and in various magazines. She continued her fashion work by sewing her grandchildren's clothing and various items for her home. Jeanne is the wife of 57 years of C. William Cornelssen. She is the mother of Candice J. Easton of Flowery Branch, GA and C. William Cornelssen of Marlton, NJ. She is the grandmother of C. William Cornelssen, the 10th, Carena A. Cornelssen, and Patrick Easton. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 8th at 11 AM at the Lechner Funeral Home, 24 N. Main St., Medford. Interment is in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Medford. A viewing will be held Friday evening, 7-9 PM and Saturday morning, 10-11 AM at the funeral home.
